Work v. Play
0Work requires me to travel on a regular basis. Last week, I appeared before a Judge that has been hearing many of my cases lately. Following my appearance I had a nice chat with him and would like to share bits and pieces of our conversation with you.
This particular Judge is aware that I am out of town counsel and asked whether I spend any time at home. Although I am on the road on a weekly basis, I try and organize my days as efficiently as possible and if I can fly in and out on the same day, I will. That being said, my time on the road has been excessive in the last few months and it is time to slow down and enjoy the rest of the summer. I recognize this.
My conversation led me to reflect on my lifestyle and the importance of being organized and of taking holidays. The importance of taking time off is something the Judge expressed as key to leading a successful practice. I agree with him one hundred percent and I feel this is true for everyone.
It is important to nurture our body, our mind and our soul. To be the BEST that we can be, it is important to take time for ourselves and with our family and friends.
That being said, I am looking forward to my cottage vacation in just a few weeks! What are your plans for the summer?
