Gregory Lalonde | PERSONAL STYLE CONSULTANT
From a very young age, Gregory has been exposed to clothing and style as a way to represent one’s self to the world. His father, Randy Lalonde, opened up a menswear store when he started primary school. For years, every day after the final bell rang, the school bus dropped him off at the front door of Blazer For Men. Cleaning the floors, dusting the shelves and counting inventory were some of the first tasks assigned by his father, but by the time it came to head off to University, Gregory was handily helping customers find and put together new ways of showing off their own unique style.
While studying International Business and Japanese at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, he held a sales position at a reputable menswear store on the popular West Broadway strip. It seemed that his menswear background would not be easily shaken. Gregory also spent two years living in Tokyo, Japan, where he would develop a broader perspective for style and gain major life experience.
It was both of his and his father’s philosophy that it would not be in the best interest for either Gregory nor Blazer For Men for him to work at the store immediately after University. He firmly planted his feet on the wholesale side of the business to gain knowledge of both sides, but also to experience how many other stores operated. After a couple of years building international brands’ retail presence in North America, Gregory was offered a position at his father’s store, Blazer For Men. He accepted.
Gregory shares the perspective with his father that clothes are not merely utility. Clothes—and by extension, your personal style—speak to people you meet before you even have a chance to say anything at all. Style is a confidence booster. It’s your front line for first impressions. It’s a chance to show that you are comfortable with your surroundings, and by extension confident in yourself. Other people notice these things, and tend to trust those who trust themselves. Dressing well is not the be-all-and-end-all way to the top of the social food chain, but by maintaining and updating your personal style, you just may gain that extra edge others look for.
It is Gregory’s mission to provide an exceptional experience for those seeking to look and feel better through personal style. This means scouring the globe for the latest styles, and constantly innovating the shopping experience. For more information, visit www.blazerformen.com , or visit him in store!
