As we have been taping the webinars for our Five Days to Feeling Fabulous – an online health summit – I have come to realize that I need to do more to take charge of my health.
We have got 30 experts, who are either part of Company of Women or The Clarity Centre. Over the five days, each will be sharing her knowledge – sometimes by telling her personal story and other times by imparting some useful information or techniques that will help women improve the quality of their lives.
Some of the information is not new to me. I’ve heard it before, but this time, maybe because we’re co-hosting the show, I’ve felt more compelled to take action. So what have I done? Teeny, tiny steps. I’ve bought one of those water bottles where you can infuse fruit or cucumber to make the water more tasty and I have been making a concerted effort to drink more water. Thanks Caryl Ayearst.
I know, but I did say it was a small strike for womankind. Apart from the more frequent trips to the washroom, I have to say I feel better. It could be psychological of course but I am sticking to it.
That is more than I can say about the meditation. After listening to Vanessa Head and hearing Che Marville’s luxurious voice, I determined that I too was going to quiet my mind and meditate. Vanessa recommended making it a part of your daily routine. Just twenty minutes for you to be quiet, calm and alone with yourself. Hmm.
I have one of those minds that never stops. I am always thinking of something – from my to-do list to what new meals I can concoct. I am sure I am not alone as we lead such busy lives.
Several of my friends successfully meditate and yet so far, it has alluded me. The conclusion I’ve reached is I need lessons. I need someone to lead me through the process because on my own, I give up too easily and I can’t seem to find that inner quiet.
I guess we are all a work in progress. Why not check out the series and see what you can learn. It’s August 19-23 and it’s free – www.5daystofeelingfabulous.com
