Keys to a Positive and Successful Day
0I wrote an article about finding the time for fitness that was published in the current issue of Inside Fitness magazine. I thought I would reiterate it here as this is such an important topic for me to share with others because a question I get asked every single day is how do I manage it all.
I believe that the time I spend in the gym sets the tone for a positive and successful day. In order to help you manage your day a little easier, here is a summation of the tips I provided in my article:
Prioritize. Write down what you need to accomplish and number each by importance. Figuring out what task is most important will leave you less stressed, less overwhelmed, and happier.
Motivation. Find what motivates you, pushes you, and keeps you accountable. keep a training log to keep you on track and motivated.
Time Management. Using simple time management skills will help your day flow smoother. Work out on your lunch break, book appointments on break time.
Use a Planner. Mark in your events, deadlines, and special dates and work around these dates when planning your other tasks.
Stick to a schedule to create habits. Set a routine and try to stick to it. Focus on the main goals that need to get done for that particular day, and fit the smaller obligations and tasks in if there is time.
What I didn’t mention in my article is if you cannot make time for fitness that day, try to make at least 10 minutes of “ME time”. Something as small as setting your alarm clock 10 minutes earlier can make such a big difference in setting the tone for the day. Use that extra time and go over the tips mentioned above. Use it to gather yourself and get ready to take on the day. Lay there and just breath, meditate, relax, or stretch. Sneak downstairs and have a coffee or tea by yourself, or take a longer shower. You won’t believe what a difference it can have in setting the mood for a positive and successful day!
Try it and let me know!
