Eliminate Dry, Chapped Skin and Lips this Winter
0Winter is just around the corner and with this chilly season comes the tendency for our skin to become dry and our lips chapped. Be sure to nourish yourself at a cellular level by hydrating yourself with pure water and lots of seasonal, organic fresh fruits and veggies.
I’ve created 4 festive, all-natural recipes to keep your skin and your lips radiant all winter long. They also make for great stocking stuffers!
Nourishing Red Lip Gloss
50g beeswax
50g castor oil
Beet juice
2 drops of jasmine essential oil
Catnip leaves
Melt the beeswax and add the castor oil. Add beet juice, how much depends on how red you want your lip gloss, the more beet the deeper the shade will be. Add the drops of jasmine essential oil. Jasmine is also an aphrodisiac so your honey bunny will be loving this new lip gloss J Next line a small jar with catnip leaves and pour in the mixture, allow it to cool before using.
Nourishing facial mask
60 ml organic, unscented, all natural cream
¼ tsp. sea buckthorn oil
¼ tsp. rosehip seed oil
¼ tsp. carrot tissue oil
¼ tsp. vitamin e
3 drops neroli E.O
3 drops orange bitter E.O
3 drops Cypress E.O
1 tbsp. green clay
½ tbsp. white clay
½ tbsp. Dead Sea mud
Blend dry ingredients dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls, then combine and blend thoroughly
Application: Apply to face, leave 10-15 minutes, rinse with cool water. Add more cream if needed.
Dream Cream
This PM moisturizing cream deeply nourishes the skin and also aids in sleep.
60 ml Coconut butter
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Vetiver
Blend and apply from neck to toe 20 minutes prior to bed.
Peppermint Lip Balm:
Part A
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. honey
3/4 tsp. beeswax — grated
1/2 tsp. pure cocoa butter
Part B
2 drops peppermint essential oil
1 vitamin E capsule
Add contents of Part A to a mason jar, and put mason jar in a small saucepan, heat oil, honey, wax and butter over a low heat until just melted.
Remove from heat and allow to cool for 2-3 minutes.
Stir in Part B.
Pour into containers of your choice.
