Dive Fully into LIFE
0Things can always suck so why not be vibrant instead? Have you ever desired to be alive. Truly and fully alive? To spend your days actually living them instead of just existing. We seem to have a tendency to follow the same patterns over and over again, and all the while expecting a different result. We grasp at books, videos, courses, workshops, significant others, clothes, food (the list goes on) anything to validate us, and tell us we are happy and alive instead of actually being it, living it, having passion emanate through us.
There are moments in life where you literally look around you and all you see is crap. Your heart is heavy, your mind is chaotic, and you are just trying to keep your head above water. Life is filled with daily distractions that have the mind grasping at anything that can instantaneously take this feeling away. The worst part is that you know that this feeling will still be there hiding under the layers of chanel, and wine, and that piece of pizza that you ate last night for dinner. It doesn’t even have to be this dramatic. You may not feel anything at all, a quiet indifference that just carries you through the day, and you only give yourself a split second to feel “there has to be something more than this”. I think a fact that once accepted can make life a whole lot easier. Life isn’t easy, it was never meant to be easy, and nothing will fill you up. It is up to you entirely. When you can really sit with the fact that no one, or no thing will draw contentment or satisfaction into your skin, that is where growth can come my friends, that is where your starting point is.
“It is entirely up to you”, what does that even mean? What I am asking you to do is stop for a second, and think about your life, and whether you are truly alive. I don’t mean happy, happy is just an emotion that can be easily shifted and manipulated. I mean passionately alive. Do you wake up excited for the day? Do you look at your body in total awe at its magnificence? Do you feel a deep sense of satisfaction and connection to who you are?
You need to fuel your life with things that make you whole. This has nothing to do with external gain, but fully recognizing and appreciating it is important to do tasks at hand each day with deep joy. I know that it can seem naive to draw into the concept that we actually have the permission to do what makes us happy regularly, but its true! The only thing that is stopping you from having a full, passionate life is you. All of the excuses can be listed off (that person said this to me, I need this job to make money, that person broke my heart), but heres a secret: change your circumstance. There is a really great quote by Maya Angelou, “ If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.”
I think that a great starting point to all of this is a healthy body. How can you feel contentment or focus on mental wellness if you physically feel like crap? Looking at your thoughts, and the rhythms of how you flow is next to impossible if your mind is foggy and your body is sore. Our bodies are great indicators to the state whats going on on all levels of our being. Taking those steps to sit down and figure out intuitively what exercise or physical movement resonates with you is a great step towards coming back into flow, into that space where you are “in it, this moment”. Each bend your make, each step you walk, each passionate dance move you make is drawing you down deeply into your desires. In conjunction with physical movements nourishing your body with loving fuel comes next. I don’t mean a diet, I don’t mean deprivation. I mean having a deep, healthy joy of food. Relish in the deliciousness of giving your body energy and health through vibrant foods that are full of life. Its having the ability to shift food from instant satisfaction to medicinal nourishment. Honouring what you put into yourself, and loving yourself enough to do so with deep excitement.
This doesn’t happen overnight and learning to patient with yourself, and taking the pressure off is key. This could take years to cultivate, but every step you take, every delicious movement you allow your body to engage in, and every fabulous, vibrant piece of food you offer into your body is like a prayer that is drawing you closer to a state of ecstasy. So what are waiting for? This is the only life you have. Dive into it fully!!
