Just take a moment now to breathe in this thought, this notion, that you are truly awesome.
Not because of what you look like or because of what you have or own or where you come from but because you exist.
This body with its miraculous heart beat- that beats its internal drum 35 to 42 million times a year, energized by lungs that cover seventy square meters and vaster than the entire surface area of the skin. Twenty-one thousand breaths a day and seventy beats a minute for the average human. How can this not be awesome?
We say that we don’t want to be automatons yet we spend more time contemplating how to download an app to our phone than how to be mindful of our breath.
Meditation is simply finding the space, accepting in your heart that we need time to be still and to create physical peace that permeates our entire mental and physical body. Just as our bodies need to move and move often, we also need to cultivate a mindful practice that taps into the grace and equanimity that resides in us.
Indeed it is this practice that melts away anxiety and fear, builds antibodies for healing and helps us to connect to our dynamic nature.
Don’t be fooled into thinking you have to be a certain way before you sit in meditation, know that you are enough now and mindfulness is a universal tool for vibrant health.
